How to do the Cable Twist (Up-down)

  1. Stand sideways to the cable machine with your feet shoulder-width apart. Attach a handle to the high pulley and grasp it with both hands, arms extended diagonally along the cable.
  2. Twist your torso down and across your body, pulling the handle down towards your opposite hip while keeping your arms straight.
  3. Slowly return to the starting position with control.
  4. Repeat for the desired number of repetitions, then switch sides.

Form tips

  • Perform the movement slowly and with control to maximize muscle activation and reduce injury risk.
  • Exhale as you twist away from the machine and inhale as you return to the starting position.
  • Minimize hip twisting to focus on engaging your obliques and core during the twist.
